Klotz Octane Booster is a concentrated tetraethyl lead substitute formulated to increase the octane rating of gasoline up to 10 numbers or more.Helps eliminate engine damaging detonation, spark knock, pre-ignition, and pinging from low octane gasoline. Octane Booster modifies the burn speed and flash point of gasoline to create a stable combustion chamber flame front, maximizing performance and power. Stabilizes oxygenated gasoline to prevent lean-out conditions. Klotz Octane Booster provides needed upper cylinder lubrication that is missing in unleaded gasoline. Use this Octane Booster for ATV'S, Automotive, Kart, Marine, Motorcycles, Snowmobiles and more!

I'm looking to try some in my 1969 Mustang as it still needs a lead substitute (no hardened seats) and a "2.5 octane number" boost @ 1 oz per gallon of gas is decent considering I've found it for just under $47 a gallon delivered.Anyway, main reason for this thread is Klotz claims it is "Catalytic converter safe", so I thought I'd try it in my Ecoboost Mustang as well. The best ETHANOL FREE gas I can get is 91 and I'd like to run a Cobb 93 tune. Obviously the EB (or anything built after 1972 for that matter) does not need a "lead substitute", but adding 16 oz of Klotz per tank of gas is under $6 a tank ... pretty reasonable for 2.5 octane points !!Just wondering if anyone has any experience using this stuff, especially a lead additive in a vehicle that does not need it ... thanks.Link to data sheet: -602.pdfDoug

Octane Booster: 1oz Octane Booster per gallon of gasoline will raise the octane by 2 1/2 numbers. For best performance match the octane to the engines compression ratio. Use octane index A.K.I. and R+M/2. Octane Booster is effective in inverse ratios to the octane level of the base gasoline. All gasoline varies in sensitivity and quality.

Your better off running the 91 octane ethanol free than any E10 a 93 octane E10 from the pump could be anywhere from 83 to 93 octane depending on it's age. Phase separation starts the minute it's mixed, products like stabil do nothing to stop phase separation they all just encapsulate in one form or another the moisture so it can be burned through the engine. In our boat moisture was a big concern that's the reason for water separator filters I never ran any E10, after my first experience with it a marina ran their tank empty while I was fueling I had to pump 50 gallons out it was about 50% water according to the fuel recovery company. I went through 3 filters before the fuel system was clean.

Needed to get gas in my '69 so bought two bottles of this Gunk Motor Medic Lead Substitute yesterday (it was the only Lead Substitute the auto parts store had on the shelf). 2 Bottles (2 tanks of gas up to 20 gallons worth) cost $10.90 and it is a Lead Substitute only, no octane boost. Whether the Klotz Lead Substitute / Octane Booster is a better "Lead Substitute" than Motor Medic is the question considering at 1 oz/gallon it is only 34% more expensive.

Octane boosters are simple to use, but not as simple to understand. While you just pour your octane booster into your fuel tank, the science behind how this type of product works is a bit complicated. This, as well as how high and low-octane engines interact with octane boosters, are two topics that we think you should research prior to making a purchasing decision.

Octane ratings are measures of fuel stability, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Octane ratings are based on the pressure at which a fuel will automatically ignite, or spontaneously combust, in a testing engine. The higher an octane number is, the more stable the fuel is and the slower the fuel burns.

Octane boosters are fuel additives that claim to increase the octane levels in your car after you pump gas. Higher octane ratings assist a fuel cylinder in firing at the exact moment it needs to, ensuring that drivers are getting peak performance from their vehicles.

The fuel additive is also suitable to be used in both fuel-injected engines and carbureted engines. The manufacturer claims in the product description that this octane booster is tested and proven to deliver three times more boost than other brands. It should be noted that one 15.0-ounce bottle will treat up to 25.0 gallons of fuel.

Besides having great overall ratings on Amazon, this product is spoken of very highly in written customer reviews. Multiple different reviews cite this product as a great option when high-octane gasoline is not available in your area or you want to save money by buying low-octane fuel and adding this product to the tank.

The octane booster is compatible with cap-less gas systems and can improve the fuel octane level in your engine. It should be noted that your gas tank should be at least half full before you use this fuel additive. You simply need to pour the entire contents of the 5.25-fl.-oz. bottle into your fuel tank as long as the tank is 21.0 gallons or under.

Formulated with methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT), this octane booster can eliminate pre-ignition and detonation from low-octane gasoline. The fuel additive is safe for use in leaded and unleaded gasoline engines, as well as in all ethanol blends. In computer-controlled vehicles, the octane booster can reduce power loss from knock-retard, thereby making your engine quieter. It should be noted that this fuel additive should be paired with race fuel concentrate and race cars.

Our team highlights the versatility of the Klotz Higher Octane Booster as it can not only increase pump gasoline octane number by up to 10 but can also act as a fuel injector and carburetor cleaner. The octane booster features a tetraethyl lead substitute for added lubrication and is safe to use on catalytic converters and O2 sensors. This fuel additive also stabilizes the flame front and controls fuel burn speed.

Many reviews found surprising results using this octane booster. Users reported boosts from anywhere between 2-10 octane ratings depending on the amount used and the vehicles. Many of the complaints cite the same concern: this product will strip your paint almost instantly if spilled. We recommend using a funnel for this reason and having a rag ready in case of any spills.

The bottom line when it comes to octane boosters is that many of them are intended to give racing and high-performance vehicles that extra edge. That said, options like the Lucas Oil booster and the Klotz booster are commended for boosting fuel efficiency and engine performance in other vehicles as well. You also need to be careful before adding an octane booster to your gas tank, as improper use can damage your engine or even be illegal depending on where you live.

Yes, an octane booster can damage an engine, however, this is highly unlikely. Octane boosters work to avoid engine damage, therefore making them typically safe to use. It should be noted that using too much octane booster can cause problems with your engine.

It is almost always cheaper to pay more for premium gas at the gas station than to purchase an octane booster. This only stands true for cars that truly need higher octane gas. For engines designed to fill up with lower octane gas, it does nothing.

This booster is sold by the gallon which is terrific when you start a process of finding out how much booster is necessary to create your desired effect. Though each booster you find on the shelf claims a certain effect, your vehicle is unique. Only through trial and error will you gauge what exactly works for you.

So when you are shopping for an octane booster, you want one that has a high points rating. This rating tells you how much compression fuel can handle before detonation takes place. The higher the rating, the more pressure the fuel can take.

Octane boosters are usually used by race drivers, but can benefit anyone looking for better performance in their car (or pickup). As mentioned, boosters are added to the fuel. You need to repeat the process regularly since the booster is used up with the fuel.

There are different ways to obtain the desired octane boosting effect. Quite a few chemicals can have the same result, but unique effects accompany each one. Avail yourself of this information before you use the booster, as it can affect you or your vehicle.

So if you are not satisfied with the acceleration and top speed you are currently getting, octane booster is an easy way to get what you want. Today we will review five of the best octane boosters available in the market to help you find the perfect one that fits your needs.

If you find it difficult to find race fuel, then this is the best way to make your own. It can increase the octane rating to almost 105 points. People who have used this once have always kept coming back to it. If you have a vintage car and the pump gas is just not cutting it for your car, then mix a little of this to the fuel and it should start working as it was meant to be. Use this with caution though as too much of it could stress the engine parts beyond their design limits. Read the reviews from the people who bought it. 041b061a72
